Beverly Hills 90210 Career Disaster: Guns N Roses, Jamie Walters, Royal Bliss

"ROCKET QUEEN"                 GUNS 'N ROSES

The last song on Appetite For Destruction, "Rocket Queen" is THE most underrated song in Guns N Roses catalog.    The six minute epic track starts off with the down & dirty L.A. glam metal groove.   You can just feel the smoke in the air at the seedy club on Hollywood Blvd.    Then the wild, sexual moans in the middle of the song (rumor has it, it happened in the studio with the mics left on).     Before, the lush, beautiful finish to the song.   The ending lyrics:
I see you standing
Standing on your own
It's such a lonely place for you
For you to be
If you need a shoulder
Or if you need a friend
I'll be here standing
Until the bitter end

"HOLD ON"                                 JAMIE WALTERS

Worst career move ever:   Jamie played Donna Martin's boyfriend on the hit TV show Beverly Hills 90210, loveable and popular, Donna was beaten by her boyfriend, Jamie, on the show (not in real life!).    But this didn't matter to the fans, Jamie was from here on out cast an abuser, a bad guy, his music career fizzled, and he became a shooting star that faded in the music industry.   "Hold On" is a perfect top 40 love song with a beautiful chorus and sing-a-long lyrics.

"I JUST WANT YOU FOR CHRISTMAS"          ROYAL BLISS

A favorite "unknown" band from Salt Lake City, Utah.    Royal Bliss hasn't hit it big after two really good CD's but they have a bold sound, tight connection to their fans, and some great songs that deserve radio play.    It's almost Christmas time, so I thought I'd put their Xmas hit from last year.     "Devils & Angels", "I Got Drunk" and "By and By" are songs to check out from the band.
