The Music Of General Hospital? : Deena Jay, Rick Springfield, James Ingram, Jack Wagner

I can't say that I've ever seen one full episode of General Hospital but my mom and Peggy watched it religiously growing up.  The Luke & Laura storyline was playing on TV when I came home from school.

Considering the show has featured some of the most beautiful women in the world including Demi Moore, Vanessa Marcil, Rena Sofer, and Kelly Monaco, I should have given it a chance :)   Even James Franco, Elizabeth Taylor, Antonio Sabato Jr., and Ricky Martin were regulars on the long-running serial.

"HOME AGAIN"   DEENA JAY
"Home Again" by Deena Jay is the love story theme between two characters named Sonny and Brenda.  Deena Jay is essentially a musical unknown and not being a fan of the show, I can't tell you much about their romance, but this song is SO beautiful!

"LOVE IS ALRIGHT TONIGHT"   RICK SPRINGFIELD
A totally guilty pleasure of mine was the 80's music of Rick Springfield.   First off, he put his dog on his album cover!!   "Don't Talk To Strangers", "I've Done Everything For You", "Love Somebody", hit after hit from General Hospital's Doctor Noah Drake.

About ten years ago, I went to an 80's themed concert including Night Ranger, Loverboy, and Rick Springfield.  Crazy!   First off, Rick appeared outrageously tall as he literally walked over the top of the seats at Ruth Eckerd Hall.  Grown women were screaming in excitment and they were handing him bouquets of flowers, he would then furiously shake them and throw petals everywhere!  Unpredictable but pure 80's fun!

"BABY COME TO ME"    JAMES INGRAM and PATTY AUSTIN

"ALL I NEED"     JACK WAGNER

Depending on your relationship status at the time or the amount of wine in your system, two of the most romantic or totally cheesiest love songs of the 80's were prominently used in the ABC soap opera.   Jack Wagner played a doctor on the show and the James Ingram duet was a staple of the Luke and Laura love affair.
