"JENNY FROM THE BRONX (Seismic Latin Disco Trip Edit)" JENNIFER LOPEZ
June 17, 2012 on FOX, Keenen Ivory Wayans is bring a new version of "In Living Color" back to network TV. The landmark show featured the Fly Girls dance troupe. Can you name the three female superstars who got their big break dancing with this hip hop crew? Of course, Jennifer Lopez in season #3, Rosie Perez was their choreographer, and one of the original dancers was Carrie Ann Inaba, one of the judges on ABC's Dancing With The Stars! Here's Jennifer with one of her earliest hits remixed and upgraded with a Latin Salsa beat. When J.Lo was a "fly girl" she truly was Jenny From The Bronx.
"DJ PLAY A LOVE SONG" JAMIE FOXX
Of course, the ladies from "In Living Color" weren't the only breakout stars. Jim Carrey was an original member with great characters like Fire Marshall Bill, Vanilla Ice, and Xena the Warrior Princess. Jamie Foxx joined in Season 3 and was famous for the outrageous LaWanda. Damon Wayans was unforgettable as Homey The Clown and their classic Men On Film routines. Here's a big budget video for one of Jamie's slow jams. The song included Chicago rapper, Twista, and the video includes America's Top Model Winner, Eva, as his love interest.
"IN LIVING COLOR" HEAVY D & THE BOYZ
Heavy D ("The Heavyweight Lover") passed away last November. It's hard to say what Heavy D will be most remembered for? His 90's dance club anthem, "Now That We Found Love"? His acting roles on A Different World, Living Single, performing in Janet Jackson's "Alright" video? Did you know he was the guy who first hired P. Diddy as an intern? All great choices but for me, it's got to be Heavy D's Theme Song to In Living Color! One of the few theme songs to get played LIVE to introduce the show.
