Open Your Eyes, Life Is Beautiful: SIXX A.M. , Ozzy Osbourne, and My Darkest Days

"ACCIDENTS CAN HAPPEN"  SIXX A.M.
Nikki Sixx's book, The Heroin Diaries:  A Year In the Life Of A Shattered Rockstar, is raw, scary, vulnerable, and a view from rock bottom.   The book was written in the mid 80's just prior to Nikki's overdose and celebrated Motley Crue's wild debauchery, insane antics, while at the same time sharing Nikki's depression and dependency to heroin.   The book resulted in a powerful CD led by the big hit "Life Is Beautiful". This was the 2nd single and equally amps the emotion with its chorus of redemption and second chances.

"I JUST WANT YOU"   OZZY OSBOURNE
Ozzmosis has been labeled one of the weakest of Ozzy's solo CDs.   Released in 1991, the album was described as slick, polished, and less metal.    Yet, it contained collaborations with Lemmy from Motorhead, Steve Vai, Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath, and Zak Wylde.   "I Just Want You" has more of a modern rock sound but the greatest artists do need to reinvent themselves at times.  This song was co-written by Jim Vallance (Bryan Adams' writer).

"THE WORLD BELONGS TO ME"   MY DARKEST DAYS
Released on the Saw 3D soundtrack, we were introduced to a new Canadian rock band.    We experienced an invasion of Canadians to rock radio in the late 70's to early 90's but it's great to see they're coming back (Three Days Grace, Arcade Fire, and Nickelback).  My Darkest Days just released their 2nd CD and I look forward to reviewing it soon.
