NFL And The Lonesome Kicker : Adam Sandler , The Church, Blondie, and R. Kelly

"THE LONESOME KICKER"   ADAM SANDLER

Patriots vs Giants, the rematch!   Not as exciting as last year when my Green Bay Packers won their 4th Super Bowl!   For Super Bowl Sunday, here's Adam Sandler in full Bruce  Springsteen mode.  A song for the ultimate underdog, the smallest NFL players, the kickers, including a Clarence Clemons-like saxophone solo by Jerome Bettis!   The song starts off slow but it picks up steam midway, great video!

"UNDER THE MILKY WAY"  THE CHURCH

One of the sexiest new wave songs of all-time!  The Church released this song in 1988 and it went to #2 in the U.S.   The band is Australian and in the Aussie Music Hall Of Fame but a one hit wonder here.   The song has a dreamy, romantic tone with haunting bagpipes over the chorus, visions of stargazing at night.

"THE STORM IS OVER NOW"  R.KELLY
Please watch this video!   I'm a big R. Kelly fan and never saw this video before.  It's inspirational, majestic, empowering, and will give you goosebumps!   "The Storm Is Over Now" like "I Believe I Can Fly" continues the spiritual (without being preachy), positive message theme that Robert loves to express.  The mountain scenary, the choir, and the buildup blow me away!

 "MARIA"     BLONDIE
From the CD, No Exit, in 1999, this song hit #1 exactly 20 years after "Heart Of Glass" hit #1.  "Maria" has that catchy beat, lyrics of infatuation for the unattainable one, and that classic line "Maria, you've got to see her, go insane and out of your mind!"
